Copyright & DMCA Policy
We take creators' rights seriously. This page explains what this tool does and does not host, and the quickest way to deal with misuse of your work.

We do not host media
Threads Downloader keeps no videos, photos or audio. When someone looks up a public post, our server reads the post's publicly available details. A file they choose to save is streamed from Meta's content network to their browser without being copied into storage. There is no library, index or archive of media on this site.
If your work was reposted elsewhere
If someone saved your content here and published it somewhere else, the infringement is the republication. These steps work best:
- Report it to the site hosting the copy. Major platforms have a copyright reporting process and must respond to valid notices.
- Report it to Meta if the copy is on Instagram, using Instagram's copyright report form, or through the post's report option if it is on Threads.
- Limit who can see your originals. This tool works only with public posts, so making a post private or follower-only stops it from being looked up here.
Sending a notice to us
If you believe this service is being used to infringe your copyright and want us to act, email a written notice containing all of the following:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- a description of the copyrighted work you say is being infringed;
- the exact post link or links involved, specific enough for us to find them;
- your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you own the copyright or are authorised to act for the owner.
Send it to [email protected] with “Copyright notice” in the subject line. Notices missing any of these details cannot be acted on. We review every complete notice and reply as soon as we can. Where we are able to act, for example by stopping this tool from resolving a specific post, we will.
False or bad-faith notices
Knowingly misrepresenting that material infringes your rights can make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. Please be sure of your claim before you send it.
Counter-notices
If a post was blocked because of a notice and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. Include your signature, the post link, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the block was an error, your contact details, and your consent to the jurisdiction of an appropriate court.
Repeat misuse
Lookups are rate limited per address, and we block addresses used for repeated infringing or abusive activity.
